Orders of Service
What is a Funeral Order of Service?
A Funeral Order of Service is a printed A5 sized booklet which lists, on the inside pages, the readings, verses and songs at a funeral service. Funeral Order of Service Booklets are given to those attending the service by the funeral directors. A photograph of your loved one graces the cover along with their name and dates. Photo retouching is provided for old or damaged photos or for adjustment of backgrounds. The back page is often dedicated to a ‘thank you’ to those attending and details of your invitation to refreshments after the ceremony.
Orders of Service are often referred to a Service Sheets or Funeral Programmes.

Why have a Funeral Order of Service Booklet?
- A Useful Guide to the Ceremony. A well designed Funeral Order of Service Booklet will help those present to follow the service and, as the names of presenters are often included, those in attendance will know who the speakers are.
- A keepsake for family and friends. And a wonderful memento to send to those unable to attend the funeral or to family who live overseas.
- An historical record to be treasfor many years to come.
If the funeral service is to be held in a church there may be a need to provide a more comprehensive booklet including all the words of prayers and hymns so a Full Service Book may be more appropriate. Books have a colour cover with Photograph and name and dates and often the location of the service and the inside pages have the full content of the service.

Why have a full Service Book?
- A Useful Guide to the Ceremony. A Full Service Book will help those present to follow the service and, especially if they are unfamiliar with a church service. They will feel more comfortable about participating in the hymns and responses with a printed Funeral Order of Service Booklet.
